62 Millas al Cielo
WHERE THE STARS MEET THE EARTH
62 Millas al Cielo is a 100% Tinto Fino or Tempranillo that's grown in the highest vineyards of the Ribera del Duero appellation, is aged for 9 months in French oak barrels and is renowned for its freshness, intense aromas and dark cherry colour. 62 miles is the distance that separates our winery in Fompedraza from the Kármán line, considered the boundary between the atmosphere and outer space.
In Fompedraza, the altitude of the plains amplifies the effect of the contrast between day and night temperatures, which means that the grapes mature more slowly and achieve peak ripeness, preserving their freshness and enhancing their quality.
DO Ribera del Duero
Ribera del Duero is located in the Meseta Central or central plateau of the Iberian Peninsula, where the provinces of Soria, Burgos, Segovia, and Valladolid converge. It is home to a 115 km by 35 km strip of vineyard that stretches along the Duero river basin. It is one of the highest vineyards in the northern hemisphere, a high-altitude, complex land whose harsh climate produces exceptionally high-quality grapes.
