Casals Vermouth
The name CASALS pays tribute to the family’s second surname, symbolizing the continuation of the legacy of those who first created vermouth. In Catalan, “Casals” also refers to a place where family and friends gather, or a home that has welcomed many generations.
This is the essence of Vermouth Casals: to bring people together, to enjoy, and to share with loved ones.
We select aromatic white wines from local grape varieties, including the ancestral Selma, and blend them with white wine aged for three years in oak barrels.
More than 20 Mediterranean botanicals are infused, each pressed manually and individually, including orange and mandarin peels, olive leaves, and cinnamon.
Inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of Juan Torres Casals and his wife Josefa (Pepa), members of the family's second generation, we have ventured into new horizons and revived their original vermouth recipe, long hidden within family archives.
In line with the Torres Family’s remarkable initiative to recover ancestral grape varieties, we proudly present the first vermouth crafted from ancient Catalan grapes and Mediterranean botanicals sourced from Penedés, Spain. The result is a truly unique sweet red vermouth.
