Saint Valentine's Day is about to come and Bodegas Torres launches its most romantic wine with a renewed image with classical inspiration that rememorizes the essence for which it was created: a wine to share.
Sweet and sensual, San Valentín was created by Miguel Torres Carbó, member of the third generation of the Torres family and the man who boosted the company’s international expansion, who conceived an aromatic wine which could be used to complement the picnics around vineyards the family used to hold with friends. Its name choice was not by chance, as the author decided to give it as a present to his wife, Margarita Riera, on Saint Valentine’s Day, a 14th of February in 1956. That’s how another Torres family classic was born, and now it recovers its romantic essence going back to its origins.
The new San Valentín presents a retro, elegant image inspired on the first label from the 50s; with a classic typography in green with white background. The label includes a nice illustration of two cupids holding wine glasses and subtle floral elements in relief, which reinterpret the leaves and the bunch of grapes of the original label. But what is really striking is the back label, where a black & white photo of the family appears showing Miguel Torres Carbó’s parents, Juan Torres Casals and Josefa Carbó, together with friends enjoying a relaxing picnic in a vineyard during a spring day. An image that transmits happy moments which were an inspiration for the author to create this semi-sweet white wine.
