04 November 2024

Familia Torres shares its winemaking legacy with the release of Familia Torres Colección Privada (Private Collection), an extraordinary selection of rare ex cellar vintages aimed at highlighting the ageing potential of the winery's greatest wines. Each year, Familia Torres will unveil a limited number of exceptional bottles that have matured for at least a decade in the family's private reserve, carefully chosen to exhibite the intricate complexity that only the passage of time can bestow upon fine wines.

Familia Torres Private Collection is aimed at private clients, collectors and prestigious restorers. In its first edition, the collection features five iconic wines that have marked the winery’s history from nine different vintages ranging from 1989 to 2013 for the youngest wines.

Mas La Plana 1989, the collection’s oldest vintage, possesses remarkable complexity, having benefited from years of ageing. From the winery’s flagship wine, vintages 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013 vintages are also available. The other wines included in the collection are Grans Muralles (vintages 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012) and the Chardonnay Milmanda (2012 and 2013), both from Conca de Barberà, and Reserva Real (2012) and the Riesling Waltraud (2012), from Penedès.

All these wines, true expressions of their place of origin, have evolved beautufilly over time, developing exquisite flavours and complex aromas that can only be experienced with such maturity. Even the youngest wines in this collection, aged at least 10 years, already show their ageing potential. These bottles offer a glimpse into the future, revealing what younger vintages’ evolution could become.

For Miguel A. Torres, president of Familia Torres: "These wines are part of our legacy and a living testimony of our unwavering dedication to excellence. It is exciting to enjoy these vintages now, once anticipated to possess remarkable ageing potential, and to see that time has proven us right. They are wines of profound complexity that have evolved in an exceptional way."

To certify the authenticity and integrity of these select wines, each of the vintages that make up the Familia Torres Colección Privada is presented in an elegant dark wooden case, addorned with a wax seal and a ribbon indicating the relaunch date. Inside, there is information about the wine and the vintage. The bottles retain the original label and are prepared by hand, with special attention to every detail.

The stringent selection process by the family and the winemaking team ensures that only the finest vintages are included in this exclusive collection and that all bottles have been aged and preserved in the family's private cellar under optimal conditions until the moment of their relaunch.
