Grans Muralles and Mas La Plana, two of Torres’ most symbolic wines, will accompany the Roca brothers on their gastronomy tour 'The Cooking Tour Experience 2015', which will take them as far afield as Argentina, the USA and Turkey this summer, thanks to the sponsorship of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA)
The chefs behind the world's number one restaurant, El Celler de Can Roca, have chosen these two wines, from the 2009 and 2010 vintages respectively, in addition to Mas Cavalls Pinot Noir 2012, from Marimar Estate in California, to pair with the culinary creations they will be serving in the North American cities of Miami, Birmingham and Houston. The wines will be paired with dishes created by the El Celler de Can Roca team based on local ingredients selected by the Roca brothers on their exploratory travels last spring.
Brothers Joan, Josep and Jordi Roca, accompanied by 40 chefs and serving staff from their Girona team, will create special menus that pay tribute to the local culture and gastronomy of each of the countries visited over the five weeks of the tour. 'The Cooking Tour Experience 2015' is the result of the programme 'Alta Cocina con Valores' (Haute Cuisine with Values) that the brothers Roca, in conjunction with BBVA Bancomer, have been promoting in an effort to locate the world's finest ingredients, encourage the work of local producers and support the upcoming culinary talents in each country visited.
