Habitat wines by Torres win medals at the MUNDUS VINI BioFach International Organic Wine Award 2014

11 February 2014

The organic wines by Bodegas Torres received Gold and Silver medals at the fifth edition of the MUNDUS VINI BioFach International Organic Wine Award 2014. The international competition held in Germany is an important point of reference in the world of organic wine. Habitat white, a blend of white Garnacha and Xarel·lo, received the Gold medal whereas its red sibling, made from Garnacha and Syrah, was awarded the Silver.

The awards were officially announced at BioFach, a fair dedicated to organic products, which was organized in the German city of Nuremberg. An independent international jury made up of more than 50 enologists, sommeliers, journalists and wine merchants was responsible for tasting and rating the competing wines. The MUNDUS VINI BioFach International Organic Wine Award brings together wines from around the world and strives to promote the production and consumption of organic wines as well as their quality.

For Bodegas Torres, the awards – coming one year after the launch of the Habitat range – represent the recognition of the winery's hard work and effort. The wines began receiving awards even before they became commercially available, starting in early 2013 with the award for Best Green Launch from the prestigious British magazine The Drinks Business.
