Familia Torres, top-ranked Spanish winery in ‘The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands 2026’

27 March 2026

Familia Torres has been recognised as Spain’s top winery in the The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands 2026 ranking, recently announced by the UK magazine Drinks International. This year, the family-owned estate has secured third place worldwide, completing the podium and further consolidating its position as one of the most respected wine brands on the global stage. The accolade adds to the winery’s outstanding track record in this international list, where Familia Torres has remained within the top five positions across all 16 editions published to date.

Heritage, global reach and sustainability leadership

By awarding third place in 2026, The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands jury has chosen to spotlight what it sees as the defining characteristics of Familia Torres: a centuries-old heritage, a strong international footprint and pioneering leadership in sustainability. As Drinks International notes, “few wine families have combined longevity, global reach and environmental leadership like Familia Torres”.

According to the experts, the strength of the winery lies in its ability to sustain a robust family project for more than 150 years, growing well beyond its origins in Penedès to establish a stable presence in over one hundred international markets, while at the same time emerging as one of the key drivers of sustainability in the wine sector. This includes ambitious initiatives to adapt to climate change, its commitment to regenerative viticulture and its work to recover ancestral grape varieties.

Miguel A. Torres, President of Familia Torres, comments: “It is especially meaningful for us that Drinks International highlights our role as one of the most committed advocates for sustainability and climate action in the wine industry. For many years, we have been investing decisively in renewable energy, responsible water management and the recovery and reuse of CO from wine fermentation, among other initiatives, with the aim of safeguarding viticulture for future generations. This award is a powerful motivation to continue developing the Familia Torres project.”

Each year, Drinks International compiles the ranking based on a survey of around one hundred wine trade professionals from across the world. The panel is refreshed annually to ensure a fair global representation of the sector. Respondents are asked to name the five wine brands they admire most, taking into account factors such as quality and consistency, value for money and overall brand strength.
