5 White Wines for Sunsets on the Beach

Even on the most crowded beaches on earth, there comes a magical moment, an enchanted hour. The beach might not be empty, but a sense of solitude and intimacy sets in.
When the sun goes down, the fervent suntan seekers abandon their tiny plot of hot sand and a moment of silence and tranquility follows in their wake. This is the moment to find a quiet spot along the shore and open a bottle of cool white wine, taking in the captivating colors of the sky, the sun and the sea.
If you already have a beach and your chosen company in mind, all you need is the wine. To make it easier for you, we have selected five wines to pair with your sunsets on the beach:
1.Verdeo, a fresh and dry white wine from the Rueda appellation. Aromatic with hints of fennel and citrus. For those warm evenings when temperatures remain high long after the king of stars has retired for the night.
2.Pazo das Bruxas, our new Albariño from the Rias Baixas appellation. An artful combination of grapes from the do Salés and Rosal sub-zones with a very aromatic, fruity nose, but a palate that is both fresh and mineral. I picture it on an Atlantic beach where the sky and sea often dissolve into each other in exquisitely beautiful shades of gray. A few facts: did you know that it is the new, fashionable variety amongst wine lovers around the world, as well as the variety most extensively planted in California over the past decade?
3.Moving on, we come across another novelty: Habitat White, the new, certified organic wine from Bodegas Torres. Delicate, smooth aromas of flowers and fruit obtained by blending its two varieties: white Garnacha and Xarel·lo. A volcanic beach and a caress across the palate. A remarkable contrast.
4.Our selection would not be complete without Viña Esmeralda. The most popular of the "super aromatic" Spanish wines is always fresh, with its soft and delicate aromas of roses, lychee and peach. Make a small cove your own at sunset, and it is bound to be the prelude to a long summer romance.
5.We close our selection the only way we possibly could, with Viña Sol. Fifty years of shared summer days, afternoons and evenings. More youthful than ever, it will accompany you on any beach you choose, anywhere in the world. After all, you can find it in over 80 countries...
All you need to ensure a wonderful experience is a bucket, a bag of ice, a couple of glasses (or more) and a corkscrew. The sea will provide you with the necessary water and salt to keep the wine of your choice at its perfect temperature.
And for those who really like to plan ahead, pack a couple of candles or oil lamps to complete the magical atmosphere.
