Marimar Torres settles in the US. The presence of Familia Torres wines in this market increases.

1979

Familia Torres expands to Chile and becomes the first foreign winery in the Andean country. Vineyards are planted and the first stainless steel tanks and new oak barrels are imported from Spain.

Familia Torres acquires land in the Sonoma County region of the Russian River / Green Valley, California, to start a new wine project to be managed by Marimar. In 1986, the plantation of chardonnay and pinot noir begins.

A Joint-Venture was set up in India (T.T & G. Trading Private Limited), with which Torres became the first Spanish winery with heavy presence in the country.

The launch of the wine “Salmos”, the first Torres wine produced in the DO Priorat.
