The Wine: Mas de la Rosa (DOCa Priorat)

A person as important as our mother deserves a very special wine. Mas de la Rosa is not only named after a woman, but inspired by a woman’s story.   We are talking about a truly exceptional wine; the pure expression of a small and very particular piece of land. Mas de la Rosa conveys the utmost finesse, fresh in style and respectful of the varietal fruit essence, which benefits from the vineyard’s location in a cool, east-facing area.

Mas de la Rosa Vinyes Velles springs from the desire to express the uniqueness of the small eponymous vineyard.

The wine is made with meticulous care to preserve the purity and varietal expression of the fruit. It then reposes, peaceful and undisturbed, for 16 months, ageing in 500-litre French oak barrels, thereby completing the organoleptic profile of a wine which is simply unsurpassable. Wine & Food Experience at El Celleret

El Celleret is an exclusive restaurant nestled amid vineyards, named Best Winery Restaurant at the Premis Vinari 2021 awards. A space where the Mediterranean cuisine is prepared with wine in mind, made from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients from the restaurant’s very own organic vegetable garden.

Helming the kitchen is chef Sergi Millet, who assembles a masterful menu of dishes that reach new heights in combination with wine. Guests can taste the wide range of wines, many by the glass, which Familia Torres produces in Penedès and other Catalan and Spanish wine regions, as well as in Chile and California.

The gift of an experience transcends the material, which is why Familia Torres offers its Signature Wine Experiences. These are designed to capture the natural and cultural essence of our environment in a series of new experiences that go beyond wine tourism.  The goal behind these exceptional activities is to understand and appreciate the land through its wines, the imprint of experience, the care given to the environment and historical legacy that surrounds us.

Located on the flagship Mas La Plana estate, in the heart of Penedès, the winery welcomes all visitors to share its history, commitment to regenerative viticulture and sustainability, and show the meticulous winemaking process that is responsible for bringing us the legendary Mas La Plana wine.

Below we’ve selected two activities to share with our mothers: 

• Our Exclusive Wine Experience reveals the expression of the land at its purest and most authentic. The Mas La Plana estate is a wonderful place for a vineyard stroll, culminating in a tasting of the family’s most special wines. The activity is built around and focuses on the various projects that Familia Torres is carrying out to transform our environment into our green temple. 

• Our history: what we were and what we are comprise the essence of our Legacy Wine Experience. An experiential legacy which has evolved elegantly over time and now, 150 years later, reveals its full splendour. The Antología Miguel Torres collection endures as a tangible and bottled embodiment of the passage of time.
