Juan Torres Master Distillers, the spirits division of Familia Torres, strengthens its global presence at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2026 (SFWSC), one of the most influential spirits competitions worldwide, by obtaining a brilliant record made up of three Double Gold Medals (Torres 15, Casals Vermouth and Casals Zero), two Gold Medals (Torres 20 and Magdala) and three Silver Medals (Jaime I, Torres 10 and pisco El Gobernador). These accolades highlight the commitment to quality and excellence that defines the Juan Torres Master Distillers brands and reinforce its position as an international benchmark in the key categories in which it competes.
Double Gold for Casals Vermouth and Casals Zero
The Casals range of Mediterranean vermouths has been awarded two Double Gold Medals by the SFWSC 2026 jury. True to its Mediterranean roots and to Familia Torres’ philosophy of reviving ancestral varieties, Casals Vermouth is made from white wines from Penedès and includes the recovered Selma variety, which gives it a unique personality, standing out for its vibrancy, citrus and vanilla notes and a refined bitter finish. Casals Zero, the alcohol-free expression in the range, has also received Double Gold for capturing the aromatic complexity and balanced palate of a classic vermouth, offering a sophisticated alternative for those looking for low & no alcohol options without giving up the gastronomic and social pleasure of the aperitif.
Awards for Torres Brandy
The family of brandies from Penedès crafted by Juan Torres Master Distillers has achieved a prominent presence in the list of winners of the SFWSC 2026. Torres 15, designed for contemporary mixology, once again reaches the international top tier with a Double Gold Medal, thanks to its caramel and oak notes, silky texture and smooth, lingering finish, confirming its status as a versatile brandy, ideal both for drinking alone and in creative cocktails. Torres 20, made from white wines from Penedès and aged in oak, has received a Gold Medal for its aromatic complexity, spiced and toasted notes, harmonious structure and long finish, reflecting nearly one hundred years of distilling know-how. Jaime I and Torres 10 have been each awarded a Silver Medal.
Other award-winning spirits from Juan Torres Master Distillers
The diversity of spirits from Juan Torres Master Distillers has been also recognized at the SFWSC 2026 with a Gold Medal for Magdala and a Silver Medal for the Chilean pisco El Gobernador. Magdala, an orange liqueur made from wine distillates and Mediterranean orange peels, has been honoured for its intense citrus aromas, the balance between sweetness and acidity and its great versatility in mixology. El Gobernador, from the Chile’s Limarí Valley, revalidates its international prestige with a Silver Medal thanks to its fresh apple aromas and mineral, floral palate, ideal for cocktails with character and freshness.
