Since its foundation in 1986, the Miguel Torres Foundation has cooperated in several social projects all around the world.

Through the Torres Foundation, Bodegas Torres is supporting the construction of a new refuge home for neglected and ‘at risk’ girls in the Mexican city of Guadalajara, with a contribution of 275.000 EUR (350.000 $). The project is managed by the not-for-profit organisation 'Casa Hogar Alegria', with the aim of creating a home that gives shelter and comprehensive training to 50 unprotected children, a figure that could increase to 150, to promote development and ensure their social integration and employment in the future.

Miguel A. Torres, the company’s President, has laid the foundation stone for the Mexican organisation’s new centre. The charity already has two other shelter houses in the city of Toluca. The managing partners of La Negrita, Torres’s distributor in Mexico, Rodolfo González, Guadalupe Carmona, Eduardo Rodríguez and Jaime Cristo also contributed financially to the new project. The event, held last week, was attended by some 60 people, including local authorities, project supporters and journalists.
