CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS INSPIRED BY FAMILIA TORRES WINES (III)

Festive Table Styling with @saboresymomentos (#7wines7tables)

As you know, wine is often the object or subject of inspiration in countless creative fields. The world of decoration is no exception. So we teamed up with @saboresymomentos, to bring you some original ideas for decorating your holiday tables based on different Familia Torres wines.

@saboresymomentos invites us to style our table as inspired by the wine:

PAZO DAS BRUXAS (DO RÍAS BAIXAS)

Inspired by the tasting note of Pazo das Bruxas, @saboresymomentos has built her design concept around a light palette “with gold and green accents, lots of green!”

“I wanted an off-white tablecloth, and on this occasion, I opted for a linen heirloom tablecloth with very subtle, delicate, cream-coloured embroidery. I decided to add individual placemats in a deeper shade of cream to match the colour scheme but at the same time add a touch of warmth.”

To fashion the centrepiece, she used evergreen and eucalyptus foliage, the latter in a mix of round and more elongated leaves. “I arranged the greenery along the entire length of the table. Then I interspersed differently sized white flowers, ranging from small to medium, amid the foliage, along with green and red apples and fresh lemons that evoke the nuances of the Albariño tasting note.”

In terms of tableware, she opted for porcelain plates in different textures, playing with their level of brilliance and shine. “The golden cutlery adds the festive touch I was after, complemented by the metallic rings that hold the linen napkins together.”

Completing the table setting are green-coloured water glasses, a complement and contrast to the classic wine glasses that add a vertical component to the design. “The candles are the last detail, lots of candles, some are slender in golden candelabra, others are thicker in shades of green and ivory, but all of them stand tall to elevate the styling and envelop everything in a gorgeous warm light.”

SECRET DEL PRIORAT (DOQ PRIORAT)

The second table dressing by @saboresymomentos, takes the colour red as its main theme.

“In styling this table, I took inspiration from the Secret del Priorat tasting note, its aromas of rosemary and thyme.”

Layer by layer, step by step. The tablecloth, a family heirloom, is a like canvas; a  splash of red silk cuts across the off-white linen. “Crowning the table is a round centrepiece. I wanted something really striking, something that would add warmth, so I fashioned an arrangement out of candles in three different sizes, round Christmas ornaments in silver crackle glass, small silver glass holders that let the candlelight shine through, encircled by a wreath of eucalyptus, dry flowers, and clusters of red peppercorn.”

Along the length of the runner, we discover little bundles of fresh thyme, assorted candles in shades of ivory, cream, and dark red to add warmth and lift the styling upward, and a gorgeous silver ornament “that gives the table that Christmas touch that I just love”.

As for the tableware, the stylist chose white textured plates framed by thick linen napkins in pale pink (to soften the red of the table runner) held together by string and twigs of rosemary. The silver cutlery combines perfectly with the silver bread plates.

The glassware is kept simple, adding radiance and an upward lift without taking away from the colourful centre of the table. As a finishing touch, our stylist added eucalyptus foliage and simple bundles of fresh red peppercorn, a smattering of colour against the natural tone of the tablecloth “that evokes the chromatic nuances of the wine our guests will be enjoying”.

We've seen how the material interpretation of wine can be a source of inspiration, transforming a Christmas table into a concept, an idea that welcomes and brings us together and makes us feel at home.
