Our family's traditional values over the last 30 years have focused on viticulture free from insecticides and herbicides (integrated viticulture) and where the application of modern biological techniques has produced excellent results. In California, on the family's 40 hectares of vineyards, the methods of organic agriculture are used.
In Chile 400 hectares are organic or in the process of being certified.
And, in Spain, one third of our 2,000 hectares of vineyards are also organically managed.
Moreover, since 1992 we have collaborated in protecting the Bonelli's Eagle in Catalonia and the Condor in Chile. We have also helped to prevent forest fires in the Penedès region and to replant woods after fires. And, of course, our wineries in Catalonia, Ribera del Duero and La Rioja appropriately treat all their waste water before it's released into the general system. In La Rioja and Catalonia we also have installations to collect rainwater.
